Jane

When I first met Penny, I was feeling really lost and didn't understand why. Penny listened to what happened to me and helped me to see it wasn't my fault. She helped me see that I don't have to stay stuck in the past and that I can move forward. Since I started counselling, I feel better at work and have better relationships. I've learned that it's okay to have needs and to ask for them to be met. I'm very grateful for her support.

We have been seeing Penny on and off since 2018. We started with in-person sessions and then switched to online during the pandemic. We both lost our parents when we were in our early 20s, so it’s been hard for us to talk to others outside of our relationship. I was having a tough time with my sexuality and staying monogamous, even though I love my husband, so we decided to try relationship therapy. Working with Penny helped me understand my feelings better and taught us new ways to talk to each other. Our relationship is much healthier now, and we still check in with Penny from time to time for what she calls maintenance therapy whenever we need a little help. Penny is warm, she listens carefully, and she really helps us see things from each other's point of view.
